Dalmatians Defend Their Walker By Taking On Four Coyotes
It’s really amazing how protective dogs can be. They have an instinct to defend their friends. They are willing to put themselves in harm’s way to keep themselves safe.
A recent incident exemplifies this perfectly when two brave Dalmatians stepped forward to protect their dog walker from a pack of coyotes.
Wednesday, Justin Lantadella, a dog walker, was walking Diana and Tasha, his two loyal Dalmatian dogs, near their apartment in Boston (according to WBZ). Suddenly Diana started acting strange and suddenly jumped backwards.
Feeling disturbed by this behavior, Justin turned around to discover the reason behind Diana’s reaction – a pack of four wolves standing behind them.
The wolves were showing aggression. Rush towards the dogs. But the brave Dalmatians firmly stuck to their ground instinctively to protect their dog walker. It is reported that Diana managed to bite one of the coyotes in the neck, causing the wild animals to retreat momentarily.
“Diana quickly grabbed him by the side of the neck and shook him while I tried to kick him,” Justin vividly recalls.
Fortunately, everyone came out of this encounter unscathed. Dalmatian owner Jane Friedlander did not express surprise that her dogs have encountered coyotes in the past. Furthermore, she reported that local coyotes have become increasingly aggressive recently.
She also mentioned that this particular breed is known for its instincts due to its background, such as guard dogs and transport dogs.
“Their purpose is to deter coyotes, wolves, foxes, rabbits or anything that could disturb the stable or the horses,” Jane told WBZ.
Justin. He appreciated the dogs’ alertness towards him.
Such brave Dalmatians! Thank you for ensuring the safety of your dog walker! Please spread this news!
