Police Officer Rescues Freezing Dog Fighting For Survival, And The Story Gets Even Better
A woman who witnessed the amazing rescue of a stray dog on television has decided to give him a forever home after he nearly drowned in the freezing waters of Lake Michigan.
A passerby noticed that the white dog, now named Michigan, was fighting for his life when he slid across the ice into the lake. When she called the police, they quickly arrived at the scene to rescue the dog.
At the Wisconsin Humane Society, Michigan suffered from hypothermia while searching for her owners.
Because it was clear that Michigan State’s previous owners had not come forward to claim him, his story led to a large number of people applying to adopt him.

“I’m going to take him for a nice, long walk as my first job,” Brenda says. “He made his bed.” New toys and bowls are waiting for him. He’s ready to leave. This sounds like the beginning of a great friendship.
After Hurricane Katrina, Black Lab was acquired by Brenda, which would also have a sibling in Michigan.
Watch as Brenda arrives to retrieve Michigan from the shelter, then tell your friends and family about his happy ending!
