Before finding a loving home in South Pasadena, Strawberry, a 2-year-old pit bull known as the โ€œunicorn dog,โ€ spent time in several shelters. He was hit in the head and nearly killed him.

Before being rescued by the La Belle Foundation in Los Angeles, the dog appeared to have endured pain.

โ€œThis little dog has been through the wringer and back,โ€ the rescue group said on social media. โ€œShe has two huge lumps on her beautiful head, gooey eyes, and terrible scratches on her swollen face.โ€

They wanted to put her down because of a swelling in her head, which shelters mistook for a tumor. But tests showed it was just non-threatening scar tissue from a previous wound.

When the South Pasadena Coleman family found Strawberry online, she was healthy and available for adoption, and they “couldn’t resist.”

“Something about her spoke to me,” family matriarch Christine Coleman said. I struggled for a while to find a place to live. We waited and deliberated. It may still be accessible online.

The family, who had recently lost a fifteen-year-old dog, decided to adopt and provide care for Strawberry.

“She’s so adorable,” said Claire Coleman, Christine’s twin daughter, excitedly. It will spread all over you. She is a big, strong woman.

The Colemans believe it’s difficult to explain why a beloved and loyal pet is ready for bed.

โ€œWe often wondered how the bump got there,โ€ said Jack Coleman, a relative. This, in my opinion, is another contributing factor to the lengthy adoption process for her.

The family chose to keep the dog’s birth name “Strawberry” because they felt it was “appropriate.”

He is very sweet. According to Jeff Coleman, Grandpa, we jokingly refer to her as โ€œStrawsโ€ because of her long name. We discovered a collar into which strawberries were sewn. Everything seems to be working fine.

The kids insisted on playing with Strawberries and cuddling their new puppy as soon as they got home from school.

Strawberry According to the owners of the unicorn dog, the neighborhood knows about her because of her strange hump on her head.

When someone shouted, the windows would be rolled down. โ€œHey, strawberry,โ€ Christine Coleman remembers saying. She has a large fan base.
